Senator Elizabeth Warren has released the results of her DNA analysis showing she has some distant Native American ancestry.

Warren, getting ahead of attacks before her possible candidacy in the 2020 presidential election, wanted to stop further questions regarding her ancestry. Trump has shot countless attacks at Warren frequently calling her the nickname "Pocahontas". In the rollout video, Warren sits with Bustamante confirming that "facts suggest that she absolutely has a Native American ancestor in her pedigree". The full report is now posted on Warrens websites, the analysis states that her ancestry is between 6 and 10 generations ago. However, the greater majority of her ancestry is Europen. The senator's video was clearly pointed at the President opening with him mocking her, and clearing up allegations that her ancestry had anything to do with her professional advancement. The video includes testimonials to from faculty at Harvard Law, the University of Houston, University of Pennsylvania Law School and UT Austin School of Law to support her heritage had nothing to do with her hiring. When asked by reports about to the video Trump responded with "who cares" and dismissed other questions on the subject.

Along with Trump's response, the Cherokee Nation responded to the Senators DNA analysis. Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr. clarified that "current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America,". In a press release, Hoskin also stated that "using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong". Although Warren seems to have been using the test to prove her legitimacy it may have caused a backlash.
