After a rocky confirmation process largely characterized by sexual assault allegations, Brett Kavanaugh has officially been sworn in as Justice Kavanaugh. In his official swearing-in ceremony on Monday, Kavanaugh said, "I was not appointed to serve one party or one interest, but to serve one nation,”

During the ceremony, Trump apologized to Kavanugh for "the terrible pain and suffering" he endured during his confirmation process. He continued, "Those who step forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception,"

Chief Justice John Roberts also welcomed Kavanaugh into his new position, “We wish you a long and happy career in our common calling,” Roberts stated in Tuesday remarks to the Supreme Court.
